My Experience with Itunes Match so far.
I believe apple isn’t the same since Steve Jobs left it. I was of the belief that the ideals and procedures he put in place that apple would be continuing in the same way it has thus far. It appears that is not so. I’m not saying that with Steve and the helm that there wasn’t some failures, with with the new IOS5 and iTunes match, things are not as simple as they once were, and...

If you love your motor acing and don’t feel like you could ever get the chance, well here comes iRacing. One of the best multi-player simulators on the planet. I just got done racing at Okayama, one of the many tracks on iRacing, and driving the Mazda MX5’s. This race saw me take off from pole position and leading for several laps, however the pace Rodney Fletcher was too much for...

Tropical Cyclone Yasi and Ham Radio
Interesting to see the news broadcast coverage of the cylcone mentioning shortwave radio frequencies, as when the storm hits it probably bring down radio/mobile towers for serveral hundred km’s.. Good to remind people that there will be times like this, and shortwave makes the distance in times of emergency, and it ain’t dead, specially when the info needs to get out there. Not...

ISS Packet radio
Well its just a start towards contacting the International Space Station. The ISS is running some Amateur radio equipment, part of that is a means of communicating with it via a slow but reliable means in a digital (computer to computer manner) using whats called packet radio. I have yet to improve my equipment, receiving wise, so the screen cap shows a lot of incorrectly decoded packets, but...

It’s popularity is not all that staggering to start off with. Come on we can do better. Only my opinion and my gripe. Posted via email from Focused...

It really doesn’t matter about the camera. This is my new but old K800i mobile phone. Given I’ve given it a little post processing, it doesn’t always matter what camera you use. Posted via email from Focused Zone | Comment »

You gotta admit if you are a regular facebooker that if you’ve ever tried to chat with someone its reliability is flaky at best. This got me thinking facebook already have a jump start on the instant messaging game. Yes google have tried it and had moderate success, but I think its time facebook got officially in the im game. Something that can be taken off facebook with some facebook...

Download now or listen on posterous yay-edited.mp3 (1056 KB) Do you get anyone that says annoying words? Well maybe this is one of them. Let them know exactly what they are asking for. For a bit of fun: I'm not drunk
Download now or listen on posterous alcohol.mp3 (920 KB) I don’t know if this is the case for everyone, but when I slow down my voice but keep the pitch the same, it sounds like i’m drunk. I just doubled the time in audition. And here is the end result. I did speak correctly when I recorded the dry voice over. :) Posted via email from...

Community Radio - Unproductive members
And of course all stations want productive volunteers but there are occasions where there will be members that go against the best interests of the station. If the volunteer responds to rational its not a problem, however its not always the case. I think one needs to give them some time away, suspend their membership if they continue to be a problem revoke their membership. If they progress even...

Poetry 3 - The ever cheery geek
I repeat my statement to you at nauseum But you never listen I proclaim the wonders of modern functions But you live in the past I smirk when I get my way I cry out in pain when I don’t The endless see of troubled times Still lingers when you are gone Caught in mid air like a drop of rain falling to earth Who’s fate is sealed Stuck in an endless circle TheFuzz Posted via...

Poetry 1 - Futility
Prisoner in my own world. I lock myself away in my own restrictions, My own shackles I can’t think now Peaceful serenity disrupted by life If you can call it that Cool winds breeze through me Stimulating my soul Nothing stops Nothing stands still It is all moving toward failure Its a road block only a task YOU can perform What an insignificant spec our lives really are I’m...

Motorola GP68 95% used?
Well that’s the heading I was greeted with when I first saw this ebay auction.
I ended up purchasing one of these 2 way radios.
What it infact is a commercial VHF radio that what I have read from elsewhere on the web that the parts have been obtained from surplus motorola parts and been assembled.
The end result is a radio that works and its cheap. I bought mine from a Hong Kong seller...
Google wave INVITES !!! I have many
Well I’d say google wave is getting closer and closer to at least becoming a public beta as they seem to be releasing more and more invites I’ve had a play with it and I am liking what they have been able to do, they need to increase the speed of it a touch but its really quite impressive. That said if you want to check out what the hype is all about. Let me know I can hook you up...

Things that annoy me.
http://www.northernstar.com.au/story/2009/01/10/lifesavers-website-summer-meltdown/
Things like “all my technicians are on holidays”
It was singular not plural.
Technician.
In fact “technician” is obtuse
If the employer had a backup or even a system administrator.
Organisation is important to an ORGANISATION.

Software Digital Audio Work Stations - Community...
I have to admit that when price is an issue that audacity does have it hands down and for doing simple podcast editing its great for the $ or the lack there of doesn’t require as much cpu grunt or memory as most DAW’s and will even run on something as unstable as windows Wink without missing a beat, pun intended. But for anything more serious it just doesn’t cut it. I have had a...
Youth in Community Radio
And no offence to any older folk that maybe reading this. But how do I put this… The oldies aren’t getting any younger. If stations don’t attract the youth the radio stations they will die with older folk. Youth programs invite youth listeners which in turn inspires youth volunteering and so the cycle continues. The guidelines suggest to loosen the leash on youth a bit to...
